What is virtual reality, and how does it work?

Virtual reality is when a computer uses modeling and simulation that can enable someone to interact with artificial intelligence. Virtual Reality typically uses 3D modeling and sensors for the environment. There are some devices that you can use such as headsets, gloves, goggles, and suits. Many different things make virtual reality cool, but how does it work? In a typical Vr format, you would use a headset that shows a stereoscopic screen playing animated images of a simulated environment. This illusion happens because of sensors that are in the headset that pick up the users movements, and adjust everything based on the users movements. This means that the program can adjust to the user and their room to keep the simulated environment.

Which companies create programs with virtual reality, and what companies use it? and how is it important?

Many companies create programs, and even create the devices themselves for virtual reality. Some companies include Microsoft, Meta, Samsung, Innowise, HTC, Unity, Nvidia, and AMD. Microsoft has created programs, and developed some standards when it comes to virtual reality. Meta has created apps of their own, and also has developed the most popular headset called the Oculus rift. Innowise develops 3d models for virtual reality games, and developers use Innowise to create 3d models for their games because of how intuitive it is. HTC is a company that creates VR headsets for people to use to play games. Many people buy their headsets because of the quality of the headset. Unity is a game engine, and Unity has implemented tools to make virtual reality development easier for developers. Nvidia and AMD have done the same thing as Unity, even though they are not game engines. Virtual reality is important because it can combat climate change, improve mental and physical health, and can help you learn. Virtual reality can help combat climate change by reducing the C02 emissions that go into the air, and it does this by making realistic environments for jobs. So there would be no more traveling by car to go to a job. In times such as covid, many people used virtual reality to distance themselves to not spread the virus. It also helped people not feel lonely during the pandemic, helping peoples state of mental health.
